NAIA institutions can be named Champions of Character Institutions by completing and submitting the Champions of Character Annual Report and meeting designated criteria.

Every year an NAIA coach is honored for his/her commitment to exemplifying the core values of Champions of Character on and off the field. The coaches nominated have tremendous influence with their student-athletes and demonstrated the importance of developing character in their athletic programs.

• Send to conference commissioner by Feb. 15.

The most pretigious award for student-athletes, the Dr. Leroy Walker Character Award is given to a student-athlete who demonstrates the core values of the Champions of Character program on the field, in the classroom and the community.

This award honors an NAIA institution, team or individual whose

actions have clear connections to sportsmanship and bring with them outstanding stories that motivate and inspire.
