The Champions of Character program center at the University of Maine at Machias is dedicated to promoting athletics through the five core values of respect, integrity, responsibility, servant leadership, and sportsmanship throughout UMM and the community.

Consistent with UMM's institutional mission of outreach and service into the community, the program center is partnering with the surrounding educational institutions and area youth groups to provide instruction to coaches, administrators, athletes and parents through seminars and workshops designed to help teach character through sport. The five core values will be showcased throughout our sport leagues and camps. Additionally, our Leadership Council is available to mentor through reading programs, character discussions and other appropriate programs.
