January 8, 2008 (Fayette, Mo.)-The Central Methodist University Baseball team continued its community service efforts in part of the Champions of Character imitative as they collected presents for area children.

The Eagle Baseball team purchased numerous presents to give to area children as part of their support for the “Angel Tree” program.  The “Angel Tree” program goes hand in hand with the Ministry of Prison Fellowship supported by the Boonville Correctional Facility located in Boonville, Mo.

The presents collected will to area children who have one or both parents incarcerated at the Boonville Correctional Facility.  Head Coach Fred Smith; “this is an extension of the project the team completed this fall with the correctional facility.  It’s important for us to give back to the community and this time of the year we wanted to make it special for area children that are less fortunate than others.”
