Georgetown (Ky.) Athletic Department Awarded Buffalo Funds Grant for Character Education

Buffalo Funds, official sponsor of the NAIA Champions of Character program, awarded a $5,000 grant to Georgetown College during homecoming festivities on October 25. Rob Haworth, NAIA Vice President for Champions of Character, joined Eric Ward, Georgetown College Director of Athletics, and Dr. William H. Crouch, Jr., Georgetown College President, for the check presentation festivities.

The grant is designed to assist with Champions of Character initiatives to advance character-driven intercollegiate athletics.

Georgetown College is a program center for the national program and many of the Tiger coaches have received the necessary training to not only incorporate the program into their individual teams, but also to affect other coaches, youth and parents when opportunities arise.

Georgetown's priority is to address character within the campus community and the athletics department has spent several years developing the local program and using the power of sport to teach lessons for life.
