In response to the National Coaches vs. Cancer campaign, the Missouri Baptist University Men’s Basketball team and MBU Athletics honored Noah Donahoo for his fight against cancer at halftime of the men’s varsity basketball game versus Williams Baptist College on February 17th. Noah got a rousing ovation from the crowd at MBU. The Williams Baptist team started the standing ovation and made their way to center court for a picture with young Noah. MBU Director of Athletics, Thomas Smith, presented the Donahoo family with a $1,000 check to help with costs incurred during Noah’s treatment. The money was raised on behalf of Noah by the MBU athletic student body.
Noah, who has undergone several brain surgeries and radiation treatment for cancer in the last 14 months, is the son of MBU graduate, David Donahoo. Noah was honored in February of 2006 at an MBU men’s varsity basketball game when MBU Athletic Director, Thomas Smith, designated that game as “Noah’s Night”. The 11 year old Noah was an honorary coach for the night and sat right beside MBU head coach, Tony Tompkins. Noah was also the MBU Athletics special guest at the prestigious Athletic Hall of Fame Banquet in November of 2006. From this point, Noah will undergo regular check ups, but the radiation treatment and surgery are done. The Donahoo family is pleased to say that Noah has been cancer free for the last four months.
You may visit www.caringbridge.org to visit Noah’s site. Select “Visit”, and at the prompt, type “noahdonahoo”. The family would welcome your prayers and postings in order to encourage Noah.
