Ursuline College (Ohio) spreading the word about character, values in sport

PEPPER PIKE -- Ursuline College has been named a Champion of Character Program Center by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. Under that designation, Ursuline will be directly involved in spreading the message of character and values in sports to athletes, coaches and parents.
Ursuline athletic director Cindy McKnight traveled to Kansas City for training with NAIA leaders in order to qualify Ursuline as a Program Center.
"In a society so focused on winning, this gives us the opportunity to reach out to area schools and educate kids about the integrity of sportsmanship," said McKnight.
The program includes presentations on the role of parents in athletics, redefining the athlete, coaching for significance and other subject matter that deal with character in spot...
