NAIA Institution Champions of Character Scorecard

The Champions of Character Scorecard measures each NAIA Institution's commitment to Champions of Character in five key areas. Institutions can earn points in each key area up to a maximum of 100 total points.

All institutions scoring 60 or more total points will be named Five Star Champions of Character Institutions.

Only NAIA Institution Athletic Directors and Campus Character Liasons can complete the scorecard. To access the scorecard log into

S C O R E C A R D

52%	Character Training	NAIA Institutions earn up to 52 points for Champions of Character training and development on campus and through community outreach activities.
20%	Conduct in Competition	NAIA Institutions earn up to 20 points for demonstrating Champions of Character values on the field of competition as measured by the number of ejections.
8%	Academic Focus	NAIA Institutions earn up to 8 points for overall student-athlete GPA.
14%	Character Recognition	NAIA Insitutions earn up to 14 points by nominating deserving individuals, coaches and teams for national awards and having Presidential participation in Champions of Character functions.
6%	Character Promotion	NAIA Institutions earn up to 6 points for displaying the Champions of Character logo on the institution's athletic home page and Champions of Character banners.
100%	Score 60% & above	All institutions scoring 60 or more total points will be named *Five Star Champions of Character Institutions*.

Champions of Character Scorecard FAQ's

Q. How can I access the Champions of Character Scorecard?

A. NAIA Athletic Directors, their designee or the Campus Character Liaison can access the scorecard on NAIAhelp. Enter your address and password, then click on COC Scorecard. Please note: Athletic Directors should ensure their designee or the Campus Character Liaison has access to NAIAhelp in order for them to update the scorecard. The scorecard can also be accessed by visiting www.Champions of Character.org, clicking on the Champions of Character scorecard button and then link to the scorecard on NAIAhelp.

Q. Is the scorecard for the 2011-12 school year?

A. Yes, the scorecard is for the 2011-2012 academic year.

Q. Who keeps score and completes the Champions of Character Scorecard?

A. The scorecard can be completed by an NAIA Athletic Director, their designee or the Champions of Character Liaison.

Q. How often should the scorecard be updated?

A. The scorecard can be updated with information throughout the year.

Q. Is there a deadline for scorecard submission?

A. Yes. The Champions of Character Scorecard should be completed and submitted by August 15, 2012.

Q. How can my institution or conference be recognized as a Champions of Character Five Star Institution or Conference?

A. Institutions that score at least 60 out of 100 possible points will be recognized as Champions of Character Five Star Institutions. Conferences with at least 60% of their members earning Five Star recognition will be designated will be recognized as Champions of Character Five Star Conferences.

Q. Will my NAIA Institution President know the results of our Institution's scorecard?

A. Yes. NAIA President's will receive a letter with a copy of the scorecard results for their Institution after August 15, 2012.
